Project Life: Week 3 and 4

I am so glad that I am still on Project Life.  I can't believe I can still sustain this project.  I thought at first I could not commit even a month -- now I'm on Week 7.  How about that? :-)

I will be posting however my Weeks 3 and 4.  

This is Week 3.

The Corona Impeachment Trial started this week so I decided to make it the week's title card.  I made a small layout on a 6x6 Prima Paper (The Printery) using pictures of CJ Corona and Ret. Justice Cuevas I got from the net.  Here is a detail shot.

I also did some notes on an index card regarding the trial that I was following everyday through the news. I love doing these mini layouts on 4x6 using wallet size or cute size pics. I want the kids to know what I follow on the news and some current events is always good in documenting life.

There was just so much that happened that week so notice the major journalling happening here... lolz.  I had a movie date with my cousin and my brother.  I saved the movie ticket and the receipt of the food we ate... I also have a picture here of my son playing in the office and a picture of my son playing with tech gadgets.

Speaking of so many things happening... My week spilled over into an extra page.

Here... I told the story of something that happened to me in a restaurant... of Nico on Kiddie rides during another movie date with my brother to watch Alvin and the Chipmunks... and the circumstances surrounding why I had to buy a new set of contact lenses when I actually would rather wear eyeglasses.

Week 4 was also another busy week but I only had a page to do the whole week.  The week started with a holiday being a Chinese New Year which coincidentally is also my cousin Tshombee's birthday.  Here is the page about that.

It took me some time to finalize my title card for this week.  I new I wanted to put a dragon there considering that this is the start of the Year of the Black Water Dragon and I am a Dragon myself under the Chinese Zodiac.  I also knew that I would want to have a polka dot theme on this particular page being new year and all... they said it signified more money -- prosperity.  lolz.  Here is a detail shot of the title card.

I got the dimensional sticker of the Dragon at Fully Booked at Bonifacio High Street.  Although the Dragon is cross-eyed -- I took it... Dragon stickers for scrapbooking are hard to come by.  I mounted the stickers on an old origami paper I bought at Saizen in Robinson's Galleria in Ortigas.

This being the second week of the Corona Impeachment Trial, I included some journalling about it again using index card which I cut to size. Also notice the stamp which I stamped on a grid journal card that I made into the week's title card.

Since it was my cousin's birthday I just had so many pictures to scrap so I decided to do an insert.

The insert is a collage I made using an ordinary A4 size page protector as guide.  I cut the printed cardstock to size and just mounted the photos and added some journalling.  At the back, I told the story about the food, the cake and the people who helped the party  become a success.

I used some old paper from my stash and added some stamping and journalling.  This is how I used to scrap in high school... lolz... brings back memories.

Project Life Clementine: Unpacked

As I have previously mentioned, I received my Project Life kit on Dec. 22, 2011. It was a wonderful gift to myself and my family.

I would have wanted to unpack it at a better time, but the delivery guy from DHL requested that we open it in front of them to make sure nothings missing. (standard procedure -- I was told.)

So, I got this box from Scraplicious.

Inside were these goodies.

Scraplicious offered a package that had the basic core kit, the album, scrapbook dividers, and a choice of big pack of page protectors (either A or B or Big Variety). I chose Big Variety because I wanted the freedom to choose my page layouts. Scraplicious also threw in a box of 3x4 grid journalling cards for free. How great is that!

It was such a delight to see this as a cover protector with the Project Life/Becky Higgins Motto.

Then of course, the star of the show... The Clementine Core Kit.

When I got these I could not wait for 2012 to start. So, I decided to do my 2012 Title Page already inspired by other Project Lifers pages.

Project Life: The 1st 2 weeks

Let me start by saying that I am a Project Life newbie.  I discovered PL around June last year while surfing the net about scrapbooking.  This is the first time I will be embarking on this project.  Although I have been writing diaries and journals since I was 7 years old, this experience is a totally new experience for me so bear with me. 

At first, I was hesitant to blog about this project, only because I felt that those who do Project Life and post it on their blogs have such beautiful pages.  However, as I started seeing other Project Lifers' pages on the net, I realized that PL is really what you want it to be.  It is as unique as the individual doing it and each album is different in the same manner that no two person are exactly the same.  If there is one thing I know -- it is that there is no wrong and right way to do Project Life.

The Title Page

It was difficult to decide on how my title page will look.  But, taking some inspiration from other Project Lifers, I decided to compose this page.

Yes, this is not yet done.  I need to print a pic of me, monching and rocky to fill in the 3x4, but until that time the 3x4 filler cards will be fine.  I also feel that monching and rocky's picture (below left) still needs some embellishments and so with my 2012 card (below right).

The First Spread (Week 1)

This is the left page of my first spread for the year covering Week 1 (Jan. 1-8).

The top left 4x6 is the week's title card.  It features the hotel keycard case in the hotel I stayed in during the seminar I attended that week and my Sound of Music ticket which was sponsored by Trinitas Publishing, the company which organized and sponsored the seminar.  I think the card needs some titling though (lolz) coz it does not seem like it is a page title.  I also matted one of the pics on a patterned cardstock from All About Scrapbooking (a local Philippine scrapbooking brand).  That is because I had cut the picture to 3x4 size only to realize that it doesn't look good horizontal.

Yup, I am also beginning to love Design F Page Protector.  What's nice about this page is that I used a bi-fold journalling card (middle slot-first row) to tell the story behind the cancellation of our flight home to Camarines Sur on the day we were supposed to leave and how we were able to come home after that.  I also decided to use numbers on the pictures (using the stickers provided in the kit) and on the top rightmost 3x4 card the numbers correspond to some explanation about the picture.

Spread No. 2 (Week 2)

By the second week I was totally getting the hang of it and honestly, find myself looking forward to working on my album at the end of every single day.  Here is the left page of my 2nd spread.

The left most 3x4 on top is a card from hallmark with a poem about God's faithfulness.  I chose this as my week's page title card because it goes with our family's celebration of my late Uncle Awel's birthday.  I also used Marks washi tape to embellish one of the journal cards (right most card on the middle row).

On the left most card (bottom row) I got a Sticker sentiment from AAS to compliment my sons' pictures.  This is my first picture of them for the year.  On the right most card, I stamped on the journalling frame (Teresa Collins).

The secret on this page is that I actually used the back of the 3x4 grid journalling cards that I slipped on the other side of this page.  This is why I stamped on the journalling frame because this particular 3x4 (the patterned card stock on the other side) is not ruled like the grid cards.  The washi on the 3x4 is an attempt at putting some design on the grid cards although I love the look without any embellishment on it.  So clean to see.

This is not yet finished also.  I just need to put in some journalling on the 2nd 3x4 (from the top) about the REBAP meeting I attended to correspond to the REBAP officers list that I slipped on the top rightmost portion. I will be also writing in some journalling on the bottom 3x4, about our family's celebration of the Feast of Sto. Nino.  I will be putting in a picture of my son holding the image of the Sto. Nino.  I have not printed that yet.

Lessons Learned/Rules to Follow/Personal Guidelines

1.  There is no right or wrong way to do Project Life.  Anything goes. Don't be shy.  This is MY project and I can do it any which way I choose to do it.

2.  I will do a two-page per week project but do daily journalling.  Some days it might even be just one page per week but generally I am pretty sure I will be doing daily journalling which I found to be such a delight to do on PL. (I used to do this on a notebook/journal)

3.  I have also decided that I will do a title card for each week.

4.  Doing a our Tagaytay Family Vacation in PL made me realize that the Design E page protector is a GREAT way to do a Title Page.  I did the title page for this project in Design E and decided I will do all my title pages this way. (I will blog about this in the coming days.)

5.  I realized that although I love to take pictures, I am a more conscientious journaller.  I journalled everyday of the two weeks and had been doing so until today.  I feel that jounalling about my day on PL made me more excited in doing this.  This is why I have more journalling than pictures.  Sometimes, I journal one day per 3x4, and sometimes 2 days in a card.  So, you can say, rather than photo-a-day, I have a journal-a-day Project Life album.  I do my daily journalling on 3x4 grid journal cards.  But on special days that I would like to highlight, I use the designed journalling cards.

6.  I use the all the cards back-to-back.  This is not only to scrimp on kit supplies (because I just have so many), but to have thin pages.  So far I don't have any problems with this.  What's crucial though is that I have to commit on the lay-out I have decided so that the placement of the cards in front will guide the layout for the page at the back. I do not use the back of the pictures though, just the cards.

7.  Do not be afraid to use other products.  At first, I was hesitant to use other products on Project Life.  I thought it might not go together or destroy the integrity of the project.  But, there are days when I want to play. (lolz)  And prohibiting myself from using other products will curtail my creativity.  So I took out all my 6x6 cardstock pads from other manufacturers and it just adds to the excitement and delight in doing this project.

8.  Finally, surf the net for inspiration but don't get tied up in knots trying to copy other's work.  For days I was stuck as I stared in awe at the beauty of the work that is out there.  Even the simple ones are so pretty.  But, I realized, if I don't start and just do it, I will just make my PL album gather dust.  

Finally

In the first two weeks of the year, doing Project Life has already inspired me to be more productive and responsible as an individual.  It might sound weird, but yes, doing PL motivates me to be a better person everyday.  It drives me to make my day count so I could write something truly worthwhile in my PL.  My album is a work in progress.  I know that in the days to come, I might add some more embellishments to pages I already decided as finished.  I am even contemplating of making a Design E Title page for the album and have each family member's individual stats on each 6x6 at the back page (as inspired from a PLifer I found on Becky's Blog).  I am not sure of so many things as I do this project, but what I am sure of is that Project Life so far, has made me a better mom, wife, and friend.

Clementine Arrived

Last December 22, 2011, my Project Life kit arrived from Singapore, courtesy of Scraplicious. I was ecstatic, although I had to pay an arm and a leg for it (I'll explain more on these later), it was totally worth it.

I got the Clementine Kit.

It was a difficult decision to make at first. I wanted the Amber Edition since I first saw it months ago on Becky Higgins Blog. But, I have boys so I thought about the Turquoise Edition instead. When the Clementine and Cobalt Editions became available, the process became more difficult. I wanted both editions too. But, I had to be realistic and just choose one collection or risk spending our Milk Budget.

I love the color blue, but decided that the Cobalt Edition was too dark. So, I had to decide between Amber, Clementine and Turquoise. The kits were available at the Singapore store already and I still haven't decided. The special promo offer was almost ending and I was still flip-flopping over the colors that I wanted. But, time was of the essence. I have to decide or 2012 will come without my Project Life.

So, I thought, what will my Project Life 2012 be about? It's my first Project Life and I wanted it to be as fun as I wanted. Upon further thinking I realized that as much as I wanted it to be about my family, I wanted it to be about ME too.

I wanted my colors to be sunny and bright. I want 2012 to be a positive year, one that is full of hope and great perspective. A year that will be inspiring as I embark on becoming a better person and a better year, quality-wise, than last year. Yes, I absolutely love the color BLUE, but I want a palette that had more reds, oranges and yellows. So, now it became a toss-up between Amber and Clementine.

When I was about to order... Amber sold out.

So, the Fates chose for me. Clementine won.

PS: Clementine has some nice blues on its palette too that would go with my boys' (a 9-month old and a toddler) pictures... so I did not feel bad at all. :-)

Project Life

As I write this post, my Becky Higgins Project Life Kit is now on its way to my home. It has been months waiting for this and I can't wait to receive and open my very own Project Life Kit.

I first learned about Project Life around June of this year while surfing the net for scrapbooking ideas. I stumbled upon Becky Higgins website and I have been hooked waiting... waiting... waiting... for the Project Life products to be available again.

You see, I have two boys and I have been wanting to scrap their first year since my eldest turned one, but there are so many pictures to scrap but so little time. I am also partial to journalling. I love making captions so that I know what the pictures are about. I also love to journal. I have been into making a diary since I was 7 years old, but I also live a very busy life.

I really think Project Life is the answer to all of my documenting problems.

So in 2012, my Scrapbooking Goals are as follows:

1. I want to be able to document my two sons' first year and the milestones in their lives this year.

2. I want to be able to document my year, a week at a time to keep track of my goals this year.

Just those two goals.

I will still continue to do traditional scrapbooking because I love the creative exercise. I am not an artsy person but I love art and scrapbooking gives me the opportunity to do art. I've always loved doing collages since high school and scrapbooking is a creative outlet that lets me think and develop vision setting and decision making.

Vision setting? Decision making? I know. It seems a like a long shot, but when you are faced with so many products and so many techniques, it's a joy to be able to commit to a creative vision and decide which products to use in executing that vision.

Sometimes I stare at a blank 12x12 for hours not knowing what to do. I scour the web for inspiration only to realize that it is still my vision that prevails. It may not be nice and pretty as what I see on other scrappers' weblogs, but it is mine and I am proud of it.

2012 is my year -- being the Year of the Dragon and I will seize every opportunity to become better and more productive.

Why I Scrap

Since my childhood, I have already been cutting paper and putting stickers in my photo albums. But, it was only in 2005 when I attended a scrapbooking class that I discovered the joyous world of scrapbooking and documenting life.

In 2005, my only desire was to document my wedding preparations and also the wedding itself. But as the years went by and my family grew, my reasons to scrap also became greater. When my son Nico came and later Rocky, the reasons became more compelling and I just found myself scrapping every weekend at home.

I love this hobby. It ensures that memories are turned into little treasures for the future. This is a gift that should be nurtured and I am thankful.

Journalling Reads: I started scrapping in 2005 before I got married. At first, it was to document our wedding and our life together. But, as our family grew, the more I felt the desire to document our lives as we all grow together to become better persons. I scrap because I love. Peachy, 11-13-11

This is a layout I made using the November 01 sketch of the once upon a sketch challenge. I used Basic Grey Out of Print collection patterned papers. I also used a prima mask here (the brick wall), and Adirondack acrylic paint dabber in Terracotta and October Afternoon Sprinklers (mist) -Comet Trail from the Rocket Age collection. I also used mists from the same October Afternoon collection in Night Sky and Robot Blue. I think it turned out pretty well... :-)

A Feast with Friends

Last year, during my visit to San Francisco, California, I was hosted by the lovely couple Mr. and Mrs. Cari and Marlyn De Las Llagas to a wonderful afternoon buffet of wonderful homecooked Bicolano dishes. I wanted to scrap this but I couldn't find the inspiration until this Tuesday's Sassy Lil Sketch featured here.

Here is my take on that sketch:

The friends who attended were all from Iriga City, our hometown and I some from neighboring towns. There were so many guests so they decided to take a group picture of all the girls first and then all the males. I had so much fun seeing old friends and meeting new ones. It was strange to eat local Bicolano food in California though. We had tilapia, laing, and a lot of other meat dishes. Truly it brought me back home.

A New Love

I have been sick for at least a week now. I'm still not fully recovered although I have been getting better everyday with rest, meds and lots of fluids. Staying at home made me want to scrap and the sketch challenge blog Once Upon a Sketch was just the right thing to inspire me. I submitted a layout a while back, I'm submitting another layout now because I like the sketch they posted. Here is my take on that sketch.

This is a picture of my Mom and my eldest son Nico. It was taken after Nico's Baptism. I truly love this picture. Nico is already a little bored waiting for the next activity (the reception) but Mom is still all smiles.

Scrap Laureat 2011: A real FEAST!

Last Saturday, September 03, 2011, I attended the Scrap Laureat organized by Studio Azul in cooperation with the Pinoy Scrapbooker Mods and sponsored by Visual Creations and Ippity Stamps. This happened at the Cameron Hall, North Forbes, Makati City.

It was my first major scrapping event so I was very excited and had high hopes and I am glad to report that they didn't disappoint in a "major-major" way.

I arrived a little past 8AM. I registered and got a prize from the grab bag -- a silver leafing pen -- and I was already so happy and the event haven't even started yet. It may be a little shallow, but scrapbookers in the Philippines know how expensive and difficult it is to source out scrapbooking tools and products. So, any item that will expand yoru creativity is always welcome.

The table seating was pre-arranged and I was glad to be seated with April Lim, Arlene David and Liza Bermudez. April was our trainor in one of the LI classes and I love how fast she can scrap. she is also very kind and accomodating in helping newbies like me in using techniques and sharing tips. Arlene is familiar to me because I met her in one of Iris Uy's classes. Her sunny personality made our table light and happy. I just met Liza, although I've seen her name and work in scrapbooking circles since I could remember. I immediately felt at home in my table and whatever anxiety I had totally dissipated.

While waiting for the event to start, I explored around the venue. They had a paper and cardstock station, a creativity station that had a die-cut, painting and stamping area. Visual Creations and Studio Azul had their booths too. VC had 20% discount on their items so I was able to buy an MS puncher for P760 (from P900) and Glimmer Glam for P240 (P300). Studio Azul had kits for sale too, P300 for earlier than 2010 kits and P500 for 2010 kits. These were originally P1,000 per kit.

The event was well-organized with the help of the Pinoy Scrapbookers Mods. Our table's Mod was Mia Caniza who was also very kind and accomodating. Other tables had Cabbie Lopez, Au Lim, Nita Sy and other pinoy scrapbookers. It was totally a blast specially since I only see their names and their work on line.

We started off with the starter kit which had several papers and cardstock, lots of Tim Holtz die cuts, a cardstock die cut 12x12m, an ippity stamo and a stamp set by Studio Azul. The rules are, once a scrapbooker finishes 2 LOs she/he becomes entitled to 5 patterned papers (PPS) or cardstock (CS) of her choice. Once the table finishes 10 LOs, the table is entitled to choose 5 items from the "dimsum" cart. This is on top of the materials already laid at the table for the the whole table's use which is a LOT! and I do mean A LOT! There were die cuts, ribbons, cardstock, patterned papers, buttons, rub-ons, a whole bag of prima flowers, CS stickers from cosmo cricket, basic grey and other known brands. It was just too much for a newbie like me -- it was scrapbooking overload -- It was crazy! I didn't know where or how to start.

Anyway, the Warm-Up Sketch Challenge did the trick and soon I was trimming paper and choosing my embellishments. Here is my entry to that challenge:

I looked at my watch before starting my 2nd LO and saw that it was already 11 o'clock. I thought, if I ever wanted to get myself to that PP station, I better get my groove going. So, there I was, happily cutting scraps, looking for appropriate embellishments and here is my 2nd LO.

At around 11:30, it was announced that lunch was already served, but you'd be surprised as not a single butt lifted from their seat. After about two minutes though, my table decided to go for it and have lunch early.

The food was very very good. Three viands of beef, chicken and a vegetable dish, rice, a cupcake and some gelatin. I kept on going back for more food -- and I tell you, I never go for seconds in these buffet style feasts. ( I am the worst company to bring to an eat-all-you-can restaurant). This tells you how wonderfully prepared the food was.

But another surprise was also how small the dining area was. Imagine, we had something like 7 tables with an average of about 5 persons to a table but the dining area only had 3 tables. But surprisingly, nobody complained about the space because the dining area was utilized by a very few people at a time since a lot of the people wanted to scrap rather than eat. Talking about dedication!

After lunch, Liza went on to do her breast milk pumped which reminded me that I might also leak anytime by this time. All 3 of us who were left at the table scrapped our time away. This is my 3rd LO.

At around 1PM, we were invited to join the scrap throwdown where we were supposed to beat CV who held the speed scrapping record in the last scrap buffet. Our table joined also but we were beaten by Bessie Del Rosario, another scrapbooking friend from Lasting Impressions. I was so happy for her but she was disqualified because she lacked one embellishment. The rules called for 3 PPs, 3 embellishments, 2 photos and 1 tim holtz die cut from the starter kit. Here is my entry to that challenge:

In the afternoon, I was still able to scrap two more which includes my entry to the shoot, print scrap challenge. We were supposed to take a picture at the event, print it and scrap it. These are the LOs:

In the midst of doing the last 2 LOs, we had merienda of Lomi and siopao which was also very filling. In fact I ate 2 siopao.

The whole event was punctuated by a raffle where everyone got a prize. My prize was a heart-shaped mini-album.

At 4PM the sketch challenges were declared closed to make time for judging. At 5PM the scrapping was declared closed. I used the last hour to make 4 cards. Later, the winners were announce and the best announcement of all, the "No Take Home" Policy was lifted and everyone got to take home what was on the table.

The good thing is that my table mates were veteran scrapbookers and were no longer interested to take most of the stash home so I ended up bringing home most of it. I was sooo happy!

I left the event very fulfilled. I was able to scrap 6 LOs, met new friends and learned -- learned -- learned! I can't wait for the next scrapping event.

I joined a free class on Big Picture called Big Idea Festival. It's my first class on Big Picture and this is my first submission. The class started yesterday (Aug. 15). I am really excited.

I made this for the class.

Amy Tan's template was so simple and I loved it because it was focused on journalling which I love.
I decided to print the template -- see the cutting guides still printed. I did not erase it or cut the template on the guides. Then I mist the cardstock with some smooch spritz, used fiskars punch on the edges, matted it on some old 8x8 patterned paper I have in my stash. I used basic grey marjolaine chipboard stickers as embellishments.

A Perfect Day

I have been making layouts from sketches and challenges on line since I started scrapping, but I never got the nerve to upload them.

Today, after doing an LO from the "once upon a sketch" challenge blog, I was so pleased that I decided to upload it here.

Title: A Perfect Day
Journaling: A perfect day is best spent discovering new places. Lombard St., San Francisco, California, USA., July 2010.
Materials: Cosmo Cricket Material Girl and Garden Variety Double Deck paper pack, Titling from Nikki Sivils We Are Family Cardstock Stickers.
Tools: Martha Stewart puncher, scissors, MM Slice, foam dots, double adhesive tape

This is a picture taken of me at the foot of the famed Lombard St. in San Francisco, California, USA during a visit July of last year. I have been wanting to scrap this but never really found the right sketch or challenge.

I used left over patterned papers from the double deck paper pack of the material girl and garden variety lines of Cosmo Cricket. I have wanted to use the flowers from the sheet "Inspiration" of the Material Girl collection. I felt that this was one of the best opportunities to cut-out and use the flowers. I used my Slice to cut-out 3 sizes of butterflies from the basics 2 design card. I used martha stewart punch for the scalloped edge.

I really enjoyed doing this layout despite the interruption of breastfeeding my 4-mo old.

A Day of FIRSTS!

Yesterday, May 28, 2011, I attended a class at Lasting Impressions conducted by April Joy Lim. I was so excited to attend this when I first learned about it about the end of April. Another reason why I wanted to attend was because the class featured making a mini-album from a kit by Basic Grey and this will be my first time to do one ever.

I arrived late again due to the rains plus the fact that I just came in from Bicol at 5AM. The traffic was bad due to the rains and the turn from Edsa to Ortigas (towards Greenhills from QC) took forever.

The fee for the class was P1,700. For this amount, I got the Marjolaine Circle Album Kit (Circle Mini Album in Milk Chocolate) and a Cosmo Cricket 12x12 patterned paper pad featuring the Garden Variety and the Material Girl lines. I'm so happy with the amount of papers I got from this class. I had so much left over to use in other LOs.

It was a whole day class. In the morning we did the mini album kit. There is a step-by-step guide included in the kit so we could do it at our own pace. But of course, we were more confident because we had April to explain processes and techniques. She also made a cutting guide for the strips. I believe this was extra and not included in the kit. Therefore, doing the mini album was a breeze. Most of the scrappers were done with the mini-album in the morning. I finished with mine before 2:00 (lunchtime included :-).

I started with the LOs at about 2:00 PM. My goal was to finish at least 4 LOs so I can get the bucket of Prima Flowers which was the prize for those who finished at least 4. Also, I wanted to finish before 4:30PM so I'd have time to shop for scrapping things.

Again, doing the LOs was easy because of the step-by-step guide provided by April for 15 Layouts. READ: 15 LAYOUTS! April promised us that the LOs were quick to do. Quicker if you are a fast scrapper. I still consider myself a novice despite my 5 years in this hobby so I don't know about that. (lol)

But, surprise - surprise! It was indeed a day of firsts. My first mini-album in the morning and in the afternoon I was able to do 4 layouts in one sitting. Of course, the prize was a bonus. As they say that for a scrapper "the finished LO is the reward itself".

Here are the 4 LOs I was able to finish in 2 and 1/2 hours.

This is the first layout I did. I was so happy with the result and so inspired that I immediately went to my second LO.

I'm really proud of this layout. The picture and the elements go together. The picture is of my first pamangkin, Hershey. Thanks to April for your LO which I copied... :-)

When I got home, I was still so high with my accomplishment that I finished two more LOs. :-)

In this LO, I had to mat the pictures because it's size is smaller than the one required in April's LO. I believe it still turned out well. :-)

I'm so happy I attended this class. April was so helpful and not at all intimidating to approach. She's a really fast scrapper. I commented her on it when I first met her in Pia and Ria's class. I would also have to thank Vivian of Lasting Impressions. The month long discounts at the store was another reason for me to come to Manila and attend the class. She also treated the class to a Shakeys take-out merienda of pizza, although food was not included in the fee. I am looking forward to attend more classes at Lasting Impressions.

This is one long post, another first in this blog. I'm looking forward to post more LOs here in the future.

After about two years, a spring cleaning of my home office unearthed my old scrapbook materials. This rediscovery brought me to open my old scrapbook email group and internet surf on new scrapbook trends. I also attended a class at Lasting Impressions which sealed the comeback of the "scrapping mojo". Here are some LOs I did while Typhoon Bebeng was raging over Cam Sur.

I decided to continue on with being inspired by the scrappin' mom's idol 3 contest. This particular week they asked for piecings... paper piecings that is. For this LO, I decided to go back to basics and see what I can do with circles, and well... I could not think of anything more creative... hahaha! At least I got this really cute picture of Nico worked on. This is my second LO of Nico.

I am so scrappy glad today.Before I got married, about late 2005, I got bit by the scrapping bug. It started with a scrapping workshop with Sahrie Wenceslao of Scrapbukan.com. I enjoyed it a lot that even if I thought the materials were expensive, I bought some stuff to get me starting. I bought PC Bitty Scrap Pads (Fascination), a whole pack of 12x12 blue cardsctock, and several patterned papers also 12x12. Little by little, I built upon my stash with scrapbook stuff I found everywhere, in malls, nbs, wherever. Although I had lots of 12x12 papers, I enjoyed doing 8x8 layouts and I was able to do several, until work and marraige made me little by little slow down in my scrapping activities. But, it did not stop me from buying scrapping stuff and magazines.So, there came a point when I put all my scrapping stuff inside a big bag and kept it somewhere. However, when I decided to take it up again, I could not find the bag anymore. I felt really bad for the past two weeks. All my alpha stamps and floral stamps are there, not to mention all my stash of three years ago. Until...I was looking for the box of my laptop last night and lo and behold I found my bag in one corner of my home office. The thing is, I was not able to find the laptop box. My frustration over the misplaced laptop box was replaced with much relief and elation. I can start doing more complicated things now.I am so happy scrappy!

I was really disappointed when I was not able to upload the layout I was doing to enter in the scrappin mom's idol 2 challenge. But I must thank my starts... hehehe... The next challenge for week 2 is quite difficult and would take much of my time notwithstanding the 3 day vacation looming in the corner. I still could not upload my l.o. Maybe tomorrow, i'll go to desny and try their wifi there. Baka talaga may problema wifi dito sa bahay. I will still be joining the other challenges I have set out though.

Its 2:30. Its final, I am not gonna get my lo up at scrappinmom's. I am quite disappointed coz, there's something wrong with my laptop. I can't hold on to my internet connection long enough I guess. I don't know. I have no time to find out what's wrong. The elimination will close at 3:00PM so I am not sure whether I could get it up before that time.

I am even trying my damnedest to put it up here but to no avail. My images are pretty small. around 400 kb only but it is not being uploaded. I don't know what is wrong.

Anyway, bhala na! Naiinis lang ako.

This is my Scrapblog.

I have been scrapping since high school but only started with real scrapbooking last 2005 when Sahrie Wenceslao did her first scrapbooking class to the w@wies. I used to be a w@wie.

I decided to set up this scrapbooking blog to highlight my pages and to share the pages of others that truly inspire me. This is my artsy-fartsy side, if I may say so. I hope you enjoy seeing my pages. It might be a little elementary but what is important is that is going to get better in the future.
